Why Native Joint Preservation Matters

Your natural knee, hip, and spine are irreplaceable. No prosthetic implant — however advanced — fully replicates the feel, range of motion, and longevity of your own joint. Dr. Sarish Sharma's philosophy is simple: protect what you have for as long as possible using the most effective non-surgical treatments available.

Joint degeneration is a spectrum. Caught early to mid-stage, the progression can be significantly slowed — and in many cases, pain eliminated — without ever reaching the point of needing replacement. Even in advanced cases, targeted interventions can provide years of meaningful pain relief and function.

What We Treat

Select a joint area below to see the conditions treated under that category.

Knee Osteoarthritis

Grade 1–3 cartilage degeneration causing pain, swelling, and morning stiffness. Treated with viscosupplementation, PRP, and targeted physiotherapy.

Meniscal Tears

Degenerative or traumatic tears causing locking, clicking, and pain. Conservative management with injections and rehab avoids surgery in most cases.

Patellofemoral Pain

Pain around the kneecap worsened by stairs, squatting, or prolonged sitting. Managed through targeted physiotherapy, taping, and injection therapy.

Plica Syndrome

Irritation of the synovial folds inside the knee causing clicking and medial knee pain. Responds well to corticosteroid injection and activity modification.

Hip Osteoarthritis

Groin pain, stiffness, and reduced hip rotation due to cartilage wear. Treated with viscosupplementation, PRP, and targeted physiotherapy.

Labral Tears

Tears in the cartilage ring surrounding the hip socket causing deep groin pain and clicking. Conservative management with injections and rehab.

Femoroacetabular Impingement

Abnormal contact between the femoral head and acetabulum causing hip pain and labral tears. Managed with activity modification, injections, and physiotherapy.

Greater Trochanteric Bursitis

Inflammation of the bursa on the outer hip causing lateral hip pain. Highly responsive to targeted steroid injection with lasting relief.

Spinal Stenosis

Narrowing of the spinal canal compressing nerves — causing leg pain, numbness, and difficulty walking. Managed with epidural injections and physiotherapy.

Facet Joint Arthritis

Degeneration of the small joints connecting spinal vertebrae — causing central back pain worsened by extension. Treated with facet joint injections.

Spondylosis

Age-related degeneration of the spine with osteophyte formation and disc narrowing. Conservative management with injections and core rehabilitation.

Sacroiliac Joint Pain

Pain in the lower back and buttock from the SI joint. Often misdiagnosed as disc disease. Treated with targeted SI joint injections for rapid relief.

Our Treatment Approach

Each patient receives a tailored combination of the following interventions — selected based on the specific joint, condition severity, and individual lifestyle demands.

Regenerative

PRP & Viscosupplementation

Platelet-Rich Plasma injections stimulate cartilage repair and reduce inflammation. Hyaluronic Acid injections restore joint lubrication. Both are derived from natural, biocompatible substances — no synthetic drugs, no systemic side effects. Used for knee and hip arthritis, meniscal degeneration, and labral pathology.

Interventional

Targeted Joint & Nerve Injections

Corticosteroid injections directly into the affected joint or around compressed nerves rapidly reduce inflammation and provide significant pain relief. Facet joint blocks, SI joint injections, and epidural steroids address spinal pain sources precisely — without affecting the whole body.

Rehabilitation

Physiotherapy & Posture Correction

Strengthening the muscles around a degenerated joint offloads stress from the cartilage and slows further damage. Dr. Sarish Sharma coordinates personalised physiotherapy programmes targeting hip stabilisers, quadriceps, core, and postural muscles — addressing root causes, not just symptoms.

Lifestyle

Weight, Nutrition & Activity Optimisation

Every kilogram of body weight places 4–6 kilograms of force across the knee joint. Weight management, anti-inflammatory nutrition, activity modification, and appropriate footwear can dramatically slow arthritis progression — and are prescribed as part of every joint care plan.

Is This Right for You?

Patients with mild to moderate osteoarthritis of the knee, hip, or spine not yet requiring replacement
Anyone with joint pain affecting daily activities — walking, climbing stairs, sitting, sleeping
Patients who want to delay or avoid joint replacement surgery for as long as possible
Individuals with labral tears, meniscal degeneration, or impingement not responding to basic physiotherapy
Patients with spinal stenosis or facet arthritis causing chronic back pain and walking limitations
Elderly or medically unfit patients who are not suitable candidates for major joint surgery

Frequently Asked Questions

Complete reversal of established arthritis is not currently possible. However, the progression can be significantly slowed, inflammation reduced, and pain eliminated — allowing patients to live active, comfortable lives without surgery. PRP therapy has shown evidence of cartilage regeneration in early-stage arthritis. The goal is maximum function and minimum pain for as long as possible.

The earlier the better. Grade 1 and 2 arthritis responds best to non-surgical treatment — with the highest chance of slowing progression and maintaining function long-term. Grade 3 arthritis can still benefit significantly from injections and physiotherapy. Grade 4 (bone on bone) may still be managed conservatively in patients who are not surgical candidates. Do not wait until pain becomes unbearable.

Dr. Sarish Sharma relies primarily on clinical symptoms and examination findings rather than over-investigation. He does not recommend surgery as a default response to arthritis. Every patient receives a comprehensive, individualised non-surgical plan combining the most appropriate injection therapy, physiotherapy coordination, and lifestyle guidance — before surgery is ever considered.

This varies widely based on age, arthritis severity, body weight, and treatment compliance. Many patients with mild to moderate arthritis are kept comfortable and functional for 5–10+ years with regular non-surgical management. Some avoid surgery entirely. The combination of viscosupplementation, PRP, physiotherapy, and lifestyle changes provides the best long-term outcomes.

Bring any recent reports if you have them — they are helpful but not essential. Dr. Sarish Sharma's approach is clinical-first. He examines the patient thoroughly and can reach a diagnosis and treatment plan based on symptoms and examination findings alone in most cases. He will only request further investigations if genuinely needed — not as a routine.
